ABOUT ASTRAZENECA

AstraZeneca is a global, science-led biopharmaceutical company that focuses on the discovery, development and commercialisation of prescription medicines, primarily for the treatment of diseases in four therapy areas – Oncology; Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolism (CVRM); Respiratory & Immunology (R&I); and Rare Disease.

At AstraZeneca Australia, we have been working to deliver the best value to patients for more than 60 years, and we push the boundaries of science to deliver life-changing medicines.

About the role

Join our Business Insights team and help turn data into decisions that improve patient outcomes. We partner with Marketing, Market Access, Medical, Advanced Analytics and IT to deliver clear, actionable insights that shape brand strategy, pricing submissions and long‑range plans. We’re simplifying and automating reporting and forecasting—building consolidated data assets and exploring AI‑enabled workflows.

This is an individual contributor role supporting the BI Manager across CVRM. You will analyse sales and competitor data, build business models and craft compelling data stories that inform decisions.

What you’ll do

  • Build and maintain forecasts and scenarios across CVRM, contributing to robust 1–10 year plans for planning cycles and pipeline submissions.
  • Translate PBS, market and internal performance data—including from IQVIA and NostraData—into concise recommendations that guide brand strategy and risk management.
  • Create and enhance user‑friendly BI dashboards (Power BI preferred); access, clean and transform large datasets to deliver reliable, self‑serve insights.
  • Develop business models that enable decision‑making for a broad range of stakeholders; apply a hypothesis‑driven approach and contribute to market strategy.
  • Improve forecasting and reporting processes in partnership with Advanced Analytics, IT and our Solution Architect.
  • Prepare ongoing reports and executive‑ready presentations; engage stakeholders, surface needs and challenge assumptions constructively.

Essential for the role

  • Degree in Business, Statistics, Marketing or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and BI tools (Power BI preferred).
  • 1–3+ years’ experience in business insights/analytics, including forecasting and scenario modelling.
  • Ability to work with large, complex datasets; strong numerical, analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience in business modelling and data storytelling for non‑technical audiences.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; confident framing options and recommendations with Marketing, Market Access and Medical.

Desirable for the role

  • Pharmaceutical/healthcare experience, including PBS data, pricing and submissions.
  • Experience with Power BI; exposure to Snowflake/SQL/Python and automation of reporting/forecasting workflows.
  • FP&A exposure; long‑range planning, pipeline forecasting and sensitivity/risk analysis.
  • Advanced Excel (macros/VBA) and strong PowerPoint for executive storytelling.
